This category is basically any part made from wire that does not fit in the other categories. The configuration is left to the designer's imagination and can function as a complicated spring or as a simple key ring. To maximize the life of the part it is important to keep the number of radii to a minimum and each radius as broad as possible. This is necessary because bends are where the highest stress concentrations occur and the most likely location for a break. A minimum radius of 1.5 times the wire diameter is recommended.
